About Us
Mike Looney, a US Army service connected disabled veteran, served throughout the world with the 111th Mortuary Affairs Company Fort Lee, Virginia. During his time with the Army, Mike and his soldiers worked to recover, identify and transport deceased U.S. service members, NATO-allied military personnel and civilians to their final resting place. While recovering human remains, during both wartime and global mass fatality events, Mike gained a distinct insight to grief and loss. He quickly realized having the right people supporting families through this difficult period and process of honoring their loved one was paramount.
In January 2026, American Cremation Services was acquired by our family, a service-connected disabled veteran-owned small business. Our mission is to provide deeply empathetic, direct care to the families of our community at an affordable price.
While our name reflects our expertise in cremation, we are a full-service mortuary capable of accommodating every facet of deathcare. Our specialties include:
